Q: What is the CPD requirement that should be satisfied by an Investment Advisor in order to  provide Investment Advice for the subsequent year?

A:Investment Advisor should attend at least two CPD Programmes in a calendar year.


Q: Who should attend CPD’s?
A: Registered Investment Advisors  (licensed by the SEC)
  Licensed Investment Advisors (licensed by the CSE)
  Provisional Status holders


Q: I obtained the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) status this year. Do I have to complete the CPD requirement in this calendar year?

A:Not necessary in this year. However from next calendar year onwards you will required to comply with the CPD requirement.


Q: How often you conduct CPD programs? And how many programmes in a year?

A:The CMET will conduct a minimum of 06 programmes for a given calendar year out of which   an Investment Advisor should mandatorily attend 02 programmes.


Q: How can I get registered for a CPD Programme?

A:There are two ways of registering. You can register through your company or as an Individual. You are required to submit the application form along with the original payment receipt before the deadline. Applications are accepted on first come, first serve basis.


Q: What is the fee for a CPD programme?

A:Registration fee is Rs 2,500/- Including VAT (VAT Registration No: 4090399367000).However this will be revised periodically.


Q: How can I make the payment?

A:Cheques and cash should be deposited to the BOC A/C No. 9919753 and forward the original receipt along with the application form. All Cheques should be drawn in favor of the “Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka” crossed “A/C Payee only”.
